Empire Magazine Front Cover Analysis

Empire is a British film magazine, it is also published in other countries. Its main focus is mainstream hollywood blockbusters. It has a target audience of 15-50 year olds. It features film reviews, news and interviews. This type of magazine focuses on the marketing of the film and the celebrities, it does not focus so much on the arts. On the front cover the font of the headlines are large and bold, the colours are eye-catching and bright, the use of the red shows danger, red it also a colour that attracts attention. On all the front covers we see well-known actors, this is because the magazine exploits big hollywood blockbusters and these always tend to use a well-known celebrity as the main character of the movie. The various sizes of fonts are key, this is because the smaller fonts are not meant to be part of attracting the audience, whereas the largest fonts are in place to attract attention from buyers.
